Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process – Sustainability Review
At Sustainability Review, the peer review process ensures that only high-quality, original, and impactful research is published. Our double-blind peer review system maintains fairness and academic integrity by keeping the identities of both authors and reviewers confidential.
???? Types of Peer Review
There are three common types of peer review:
- Single-Blind Review – Reviewers’ identities remain anonymous to the authors.
- Double-Blind Review – Both authors’ and reviewers’ identities remain confidential (used in Sustainability Review).
- Open Peer Review – Both authors and reviewers are aware of each other’s identities.
Since we follow a double-blind review process, at least two subject-matter experts are selected for each manuscript to provide unbiased evaluations.
???? Peer Review Workflow
The following steps outline our peer review and publication process:
- Manuscript Submission – Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system.
- Initial Screening by Chief Editor
- The Editor-in-Chief reviews the manuscript for scope, originality, and adherence to submission guidelines.
- If the manuscript fails to meet the criteria, authors are informed promptly.
- Reviewer Assignment
- At least two independent reviewers are selected based on their expertise.
- If required, additional reviewers may be assigned.
- Peer Review Process
- Reviewers assess the manuscript’s scientific quality, methodology, originality, and relevance.
- They provide detailed comments and recommendations.
- Editorial Decision – Based on reviewers’ feedback, the editorial board makes one of the following decisions:
- ✅ Accept without Changes – The manuscript is accepted in its original form.
- ???? Accept with Minor Revisions – Authors must make small corrections before publication.
- ???? Major Revisions Required – Authors must address significant issues before reconsideration.
- ???? Revise & Resubmit – The article is not accepted in the current round but can be reconsidered after major changes.
- ❌ Reject – The manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards and will not be reconsidered.
- Revisions & Resubmission – If revisions are required, authors must submit a revised manuscript addressing reviewer comments.
- Final Review & Editorial Approval – The editorial board reviews the revised manuscript and makes a final decision.
- Publication – After final approval, the paper is formally published and made available online.
???? Reviewer Selection & Ethical Guidelines
- Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, publication record, and academic contributions.
- The process is strictly confidential, ensuring that manuscripts remain undisclosed before publication.
- Plagiarism checks are conducted before peer review, and AI-generated content must be below 10%.
- Reviewers and editors must disclose any conflicts of interest before reviewing a manuscript.
The Sustainability Review journal is dedicated to maintaining transparency, academic rigor, and ethical research practices throughout the peer review process.
