Abstract
This study explores the relationship between consumer purchasing behaviour and natural resource depletion, particularly in resource rich-emerging nations experiencing fast population increase and resource overexploitation. By Examining the impact of consumerism on environmental sustainability, the research provides a novel perspective on how marketing and social influences contribute to ecological distribution. It emphasizes the negative effect of excessive purchasing on the environment and the importance of fostering sustainability in consumer attitude and behaviour to achieve successful long term resource management. Using a case study approach, the study illustrates the real-world consequences of unsustainable consumption and emphasizes the importance of integrating sustainability into everyday consumer practice. It proposes strategies for aligning consumer behaviour with sustainable practices, offering valuable insight for policymakers and businesses. This research not only contributes to the understanding of consumer behavior’s environmental impact but also lays the groundwork for the future studies, aiming the drive innovation policies and practices in sustainable resource management.
